In a world where thousands of megabytes of data are generated daily, working with data is and will be one of the most promising for a long time, but will artificial intelligence soon replace such specialists? Isn't the market flooded with data analysts yet? These and other questions are answered by our data analyst team leaders V. Bikneris and G. Paškauskaitė.

Isn't the market flooded with data analysts yet?
Vilius: The number of data analysts has increased significantly in the last few years, but this shows that the demand is also huge and the work is engaging.
According to the US Department of Statistics, the DA market will grow by 8% over the next 25 years, which is well above average. Therefore, the answer to the question is no, because the demand is increasing, and the number of industries that require data analysts is wide.

Did you do poorly in math at school, do you need this knowledge to learn data analytics?
Amber: knowledge of mathematics in learning data analytics is an advantage, but using modern DA technologies and programs, all calculation algorithms are provided and available, you only need practical knowledge of how to apply and edit them as needed. It is these skills that we teach VCS students during training.

Will artificial intelligence (AI) soon replace such specialists?
Vilius: not really, AI can be a great helper when working with basic tasks such as code writing and optimization, but it cannot derive high-quality conclusions and answers - which are necessary for making business decisions.
The aforementioned aspects are perfectly managed by data analysts with deep domain knowledge, logical thinking, and a problem solving mentality (all that AI lacks).

Is it possible to get a job after this course, when now I have nothing to do with this field?
Gintarė: after the course, having full basic knowledge of DA, you can confidently work and deepen your knowledge in the field of DA already during work.

How many practical parts do we have during training?
Vilius: 80 - 20%, a large part of practice ensures that professionals who enter the market are familiar with as many real scenarios as possible.

Will I be able to work with the real data of my company after completing the training?
Amber: after completing the training and getting a job in the company, you will definitely be able to work with the databases managed by the company according to the specifics of your DA job.

What is the final thesis?
Vilius: Each relevant part of data analytics training has its own final project.
SQL - a practical project designed to assess students' capabilities, analyze real data in databases and provide conclusions.
Power BI - Creating a professional report from their chosen data that demonstrates knowledge of visualization, data structures and logic.
Python - the final project is also created on the selected data, students have to present deep conclusions using mathematical and statistical methods and combine everything in visualizations.

Who are these courses best for?
Amber: these courses are suitable for all those who are fascinated by data science, data analysis management and visualization. And by constantly deepening your knowledge, you can find excellent career opportunities, both in Lithuania and abroad.
